Whatsup MuFKRs? 👋
Welcome to another issue of "Is It an Emergency?", a place where healthcare workers commiserate about the insanity that is our every day. Here, we provide a weekly peek at the chaos of the ER.
So, grab your favorite 5 o’clock drink, and we’ll dive into those “you can’t make this shit up” stories

Hate to see you leave but love to see you go 🧊
Was recovering a patient after surgery who got ketamine which has a known side effect of making you super emotional. When she woke up she started cat calling me telling me how attractive I was. Then she got worked up because she was thirsty so I told her I could get her ice chips. As I am getting her ice chips she starts to go “I hate to see you leave but I love to see you go”. As I disappear to get her some ice chips she starts crying real tears that she scared me off and how sorry she was.

You have BOOBS!🍈🍈
I’m a pediatric ER nurse and we sedated a teen boy after a motocross accident to reduce and splint his fractured leg. His aunt and uncle brought him in while his parents were driving in from out of state. The uncle is a big body builder type. As the kid is waking up from his Ketamine sedation he sits straight up in bed, points to his uncle and just starts yelling “BOOBS!! You have BOOBS” nonstop! We were all rolling and the aunt pulled out her phone to record the whole thing to show him later once he was really awake. Forever my favorite sedation case in my decade of working Peds ED!

I think they took my 🍆
I had a patient who was yelling for his brother then whispering loudly to him “Check to see if I still have my dick... I think they took my dick” then proceeded to flash the whole room.

Don’t forget to keep the fun alive with your co-workers! And let’s be real—hospital workers deserve real tips too.

I can be better by… focusing less on perfect paperwork and more on patient care, if we had the staff to make it possible.
