Oh, That’s Where the Pork Chop Went! 🐷
I taught medical students. The craziest was what we called the pork chop story. Two obese people came to the ER, one complaining of hip pain. Upon x-ray there was found to be a foreign object in the female's right hip. She and her boyfriend were playing hide the food in her skin folds and had forgotten a piece. Upon revealing the X-ray they said, "Oh! That's where that pork chop went!”

Anal Itching or… Sausage? 🩻
Pt presented with anal itching for 3 days. After the exam, resident ordered X-rays. Man had stuffed 9 sausages in his rectum. I have a copy of the X-ray minus pt name / demographics.

Pain Pill or Loose Screw? 🔩
My patient was addicted to pain pills and dropped her pill on the floor. She had poor eyesight as well and thought she picked up her pill. But after she took it, she started coughing and didn’t feel well. She said “it went down the wrong pipe.”
Turns out a screw had been loose on her 4WW and it had fallen onto the floor. She had picked up the screw instead of her pill and then aspirated on it. We could see it clearly on her X-ray 😳

👨🏻🏫 How to gaslight your patients 101
Sorry for the long wait, I asked Janet to grab you a water and I guess she just didn't do it.
The results are back, but I can't interpret them to tell you what they mean. The doctor will go over that with you.
I couldn’t get your IV because your veins are so flat. Did you drink water today?
Sorry I’m a little late on the meds, I was waiting for pharmacy to send a few up.
I’ll let the doctor know
