Rotten Banana & Maggots in Vajayjay 🍌🤢

Wound nurse here. I had a female patient who was complaining of a vaginal boil on her labia. She was morbidly obese, approximately 800 pounds, bedridden. She was a firm believer in naturopathic treatment. Her vaginal secretions smelt putrid. I assisted with lancing her boil. Unfortunately for me, the wound doc present couldn’t handle it so I had to do the majority of the wound care/draining/packing. Came to find… a rotten banana and maggots inside her vagina. She thought the banana would cure a yeast infection 4 days prior. 

Wormhole Foot Maggots 🦶🐛

We had a homeless patient come into our ER with “tingling in his feet”. It turns out that tingling was live maggots. The maggots were originally in his abdominal folds but Infectious Disease said they traveled through his bloodstream and created wormholes out of his feet. I spent 2 1/2 hours pulling live, full grown maggots out of his foot. I think the grand total was 63. I had the psychosomatic crawlies for days after that.

The Man Who Named His Maggots 🤯😷

I had a patient I had to do bilateral lower extremity X-rays on... Pt refused to come to the department so I had to do it portably. Went into the room and the patient had their legs up in the air covered with wet wash cloths. My other tech had to leave the room because of the smell, I had an N95 on and Vicks on my mask. I had to pull the doctor in to help me. We had to remove the wash cloths and found huge pockets of maggots... Pt was so upset that we disturbed his pets. He had names for every single maggot. At the end of the x-rays we had to give him fresh wet wash cloths cause we made his pets mad. I went back to my X-ray room and dry heaved for 25 minutes.
